Located near the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, the National Atomic Testing Museum features 15,000 period artifacts and atomic age memorabilia, chronicling the geopolitical struggle of the nuclear arms race. Visitors will uncover closely held secrets surrounding Area 51 as well as learn about the unsung heroes of the Cold War who revealed mysteries of the atom, keeping the free world safe from nuclear attack for over 65 years.
The National Atomic Testing Museum is the 37th and newest National Museum created by act of Congress. It joins the first National Museum, the Smithsonian Institution, as a national trust and the keeper of the story of America’s Nuclear Weapons Testing programs.
